Google Ads

I'm trying out Google Ads to see if they make me any money. You can see the ads at right. Just noticed an ad for Michael Moore books, heh.

How can google ads make you money by itself? Are you giving ads for a business?

I get money if people click on the ads.

In order to improve the click-through ratio on your ads it might be worth removing the border around them (you can do this from the Google AdSense control panel) and setting the colours of the urls to the same as you use on this site.

This makes the ads blend in to your site design a little better and should lead to slightly better ad performance as they won;t stand out so much.

Blantently obvious ads don't get clicked. Both suggestions are within Googles guidelines so are quite legit.
